First weekend in December we were treated to a wonderful meal at Hambleton Hall for our Christmas Dinner Party with Hans and Lucy Haefli. Dinner was spectacular, toasts abound, gifts for everyone. Drivers provided for those who enjoy an alcoholic drink or two.

Our first event at the Wash House was to host Jim's staff for a full fledge Christmas dinner. Turkey and all the trimnings. 12 of us in all, we were a close knit group around the dining room table. Later we played Christmas games in front of the fireplace and tree.
December 13 Jessica and Mildred arrived for a visit over the holidays. After jetlag wore off we hit to roads to visit, Stamford, Oakham, Market Deeping, Bourne, Northampton. Burghley House was closed but the gift shop was open for our shopping pleasure.
December 23 we found ourselves back at Heathrow to pick up Jamie and Levi, Jason and Sondra, and planned to put them and us on a plane to Paris for my birthday. Alas, we were fogged in and did not get to go. Jim was able to secur rides for us to go back home instead. Everyone was completely disappointed but none more than me.
December 24 Christmas caroling around the courtyard tree in Casewick with all of the other families living here. Hot mulled wine while we sang and visited.

December 26 boxing day. We took a day trip down to Stonehenge so that the kids could see something historic in England.
Before the kids headed back to the USA we hit London so they could get a quick glimpse of it. We hit the usual Tower of London, St. Paul's, Trafalgar Square, the Eye, and of course parts of the Red Bus Tour...
